Celebrating 20 Years of RuneScape

Today, I am going to share with you my RuneScape story as we celebrate RuneScape’s 20th anniversary this year.

I started playing RuneScape in 2015 when a friend recommended it to me that I play Old School RuneScape. I always enjoy medieval themed games since I was a kid. It started out as a game I play during my free time when I was looking for a job after graduating college.

After a few months, I became attached to it in a way that I always open my computer at exactly 9 PM to try and train my character’s Mining skill. I liked how mining in this game reflects real-world mining similar to what the game developers did to Fishing.

It’s also a great way to make OSRS gold fast if done the right way. Of course, after reaching level 99 Mining, I focused on mastering other skills. I even spend a good amount of my playing time in the Duel Arena trying to outclass and outsmart fellow players while staking my gold. It was fun until I lost everything during one dreaded day.

I still play it today after more than 5 years of exploring Gielinor, I even bought a RuneScape membership in 2018 to get the most out of this game. And now, RuneScape is celebrating their 20th anniversary this 2021 and they recently launched Soul Wars, a minigame that was first launched in RuneScape 3. This is their first game update and the first quest they’ve released this year.

For those not familiar with it, Soul Wars is a members-only minigame, so for you to access it, you must have an on-going membership on your account.

I get my membership outside RuneScape’s official site and it’s cheaper that way. If you’re curious how much I spent on those, well, I can get as much as 60% off its original price if I buy the longer membership terms, but with my work and all, I try to stick with shorter ones.

Have you heard of the RuneScape gold site, Probemas? That’s the place I source most of my gold and membership keys from.

Now, I tried playing RuneScape 3, but there’s something with OSRS that keeps me coming back from it after all these times.

For the past few years, I enjoyed playing it with my friends and we’ve even grown into a large clan where we have clan members in Europe and some parts of Asia.

One of the most favorite part of the game are these group quests and minigames that you can do with your clan members. I remember when we were trying to clear Inferno to get our hands to some high-tier OSRS items.

I believe we had to start over about a dozen times because we weren’t that experienced compared to other RuneScape clans but it was definitely fun and we really enjoyed it when we beat TzKal-Zuk, the Inferno Boss.

Hopefully, RuneScape developers will still do their best to improve the game, because this game has been a huge part of our lives. I expect it to last for several decades more and now that we can play it on our mobile phones, things has never been this better for avid MMORPG players like myself.
